Liu Fang, pipa and guzheng - Musings on Ancient Songs

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, this exceptional recital by a Chinese-born Montreal virtuoso showcases the richness of the repertoire for pipa, a pear-shaped lute, and guzheng, a ancestral zither.

A 30-minute pre-concert talk will be given by the artist and Olivier Godin, Artistic Director of Bourgie Hall. It will take place inside the concert hall at 1:30 p.m. and will present the various styles and techniques of the pipa. Following the talk, tea and pastries will be served to the audience, just before the concert starts.
