Bourgie Hall presents

Pierre-Laurent Aimard and George Benjamin

Outstanding Pianists

French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, celebrated for the extraordinary clarity of his playing and his commitment to music of our age, presents a recital spanning centuries and musical styles. British composer George Benjamin, a major figure in contemporary music, joins Aimard onstage for the Canadian premiere of Divisions for piano four hands, creating an unparalleled musical experience. The program brings together Benjamin’s Piano Figures and Fantasy on Iambic Rhythm, Mozart’s Andante for mechanical organ, Beethoven’s Fantasia, Op. 77, and Maurice Ravel’s Miroirs for an elegant journey between classical heritage and contemporary composition.

A conversation with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and George Benjamin hosted by Olivier Godin, Artistic Director of Bourgie Hall, will take place after the concert.

A piano masterclass given by Pierre-Laurent Aimard will take place on April 17 at 4 p.m.
