U. (un canto)

Arts crossroads

U. (un canto) is a concert-performance conceived by Alessandro Sciarroni. Seven a cappella singers perform Italian repertoire composed between 1968 and 2019, combining voices and silence while advancing towards the audience. These songs evoke nature, time, the sacred, and the fragility of existence, while conveying a living memory. The musical dramaturgy of U. is structured around the work of composers Renzo Bertoldo, Piercarlo Gatti, Bepi de Marzi, Angelo Mazza, and Giorgio Susana.

Trained in visual arts, Alessandro Sciarroni has been creating interdisciplinary works since 2007. This internationally recognized artist received the Golden Lion in Venice in 2019.

Co-produced with Festival TransAmériques (FTA)
