Call for digital mediation projects in museums

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, with the support of the “Mesure 115 du Plan culturel numérique du Québec”, recently launched the Digital Mediation Laboratory (The Lab).

To encourage new uses of mediation tools in museum contexts, both on site and remotely, The Lab partners with museums, IT researchers and producers to initiate research projects that imagine, co-create, test or evaluate digital tools or resources. Its role is to act as a catalyst for collaboration.

Now the Lab’ has put out its first call for proposals from institutional members of the Société des musées du Québec.

If your museum would like to propose a project, it will need to fall under one of these two categories:

  1. 1

Issue or challenge related to digital mediation
Your museum has developed a digital tool, but you need to find solutions for an issue or challenge related to implementing it with your audiences.

  2. 2

Co-creation of a new digital mediation tool
Your museum wants to develop a new digital tool but lacks the necessary resources: engage in a co-creation project supported by the Lab.

You have until March 15 to submit your project proposal.

Consult the call for proposals.
