The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) Foundation is pleased to announce a generous donation by TD Bank to its major fundraising campaign The Museum Transforms Lives. In addition to the support it already gives to various activities, the financial institution is committing $600,000 over three years to the MMFA. This grant will fund the continued development of the Sharing the Museum program, which has stood out over the past 25 years for its cultural mediation model promoting accessibility and inclusion in museums. This donation will give tens of thousands of people free access to art and its benefits.

The Museum aspires to be an inclusive space where all members of the community can gather and interact. Whether it’s through initiatives such as art therapy workshops or the Sharing the Museum program, the institution has made accessibility a central pillar of its cultural and social mission.

Among other things, this support for the Sharing the Museum program will enable the MMFA to consolidate and carry forward the lessons learned from our research, development and innovation projects in the fields of health and the arts, as well as inclusion. Since its launch in 1999, over 600 not-for-profit organizations have benefited from access to the MMFA thanks to the Sharing the Museum program, which enables vulnerable people and those with special needs to enjoy, free of charge, a multitude of artistic activities designed just for them.

The MMFA is thrilled with this important mark of confidence from TD Bank, Presenting Sponsor of the Sharing the Museum program. It wishes to thank all the donors and partners who have generously supported the program since its launch.
