Repurposing is a great way to do your bit for the environment while expressing your creativity. By experimenting with batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique, you’ll learn how to give a second life to various textiles made of natural fibres. Fabric will be provided, but you’re also welcome to bring your own items of clothing or material (make sure you choose pieces made from light-coloured cotton).

Instructor: Avy Loftus, artist and art educator
Level: beginner
