For Spring Break, the MMFA’s mediators created three video workshops for budding artists, with a special contribution of multidisciplinary artist Manuel Mathieu, that are inspired by the Museum’s current exhibitions. These creative family activities can be done at home and are available free of charge starting February 24 at mbam.qc.ca/en/creative-workshops.

Owls! What a Hoot! | 4-handed workshop
With the help of puppet Chouchou, this video workshop will get your 2- to 5-year-olds to create a clay sculpture (with adult assistance) of Riopelle’s favourite animal, the owl.

Nature in Mixed Media | Themed Workshop
For this activity, the MMFA’s mediators have children aged 6 to 12 discover the mixed media of printing, stencilling and painting to create a work in the style of great Quebec painter and sculptor Jean Paul Riopelle.

In Between | Themed Workshop
Visual artist Manuel Mathieu invites youngsters to spontaneously create a collaborative piece inspired by his work The Gardener/Mané using a variety of media from ink to crayons.
