Wine and music : Etna Rosso

Many wines grow in volcanic soils, but few can lay claim to growing on the slopes of an active volcano! Mount Etna’s inimitable red wine combines the elegance of a fine Burgundy with a special flair that is entirely its own, akin to the finesse and vigour of a Baroque concerto.

Wine and music : Malbec

Though it’s a transplant from France, Malbec rose to fame growing in the foothills of the Andes in Argentina. Big, brash, and unapologetic, there are few things that can stand up to this mighty wine - among them, grilled steak or Beethoven’s “Hammerklavier” sonata, though the wistful strains of a tango work quite nicely as well.

Wine and music : Grüner Veltliner

Zesty, refreshing, and crackling with energy, Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s gift to the world of white wine. Grüner pairs equally well with the easygoing melodies of the Viennese masters and the lively syncopations of Bartók and Erwin Schulhoff, though you can also enjoy it with seafood, pasta, or that great Viennese classic – schnitzel with a bit of Schubert on the side!
